The Elements
"Don't dismiss the elements. Water soothes and heals. Air refreshes and revives. Earth grounds and holds. Fire is a burning reminder of our own will and creative power. Swallow their spells. There's a certain sweet comfort in knowing that you belong to them all."
So often when people see the pentacle many of us choose to wear, they automatically assume it to be a symbol for evil, when in fact, it's quite the opposite. A pentacle (an upright star inside a circle) represents the connection of all that exists and the deep connection with nature. It can also be viewed and used as a symbol of protection.
The elements are represented in the quadrants that are created by the star.
In it exists, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit.
Colors and other associations vary by tradition. We are sharing what we use in some of our practices. We personally work with the directions outside of the concept of the pentacle and align with our personal spiritual preference. As always, do your own research and find what fits best for your!
